1. Vertical Video is Making a Comeback

Yes queen you heard it first. Vertical video is now accepted and will likely be the biggest video trend in 2019. This trend first started with Stories, Instagram Live and now IGTV and it’s only going to become more trendy!

Step up your influencer marketing game. Learning basic video production and editing skills will now help you to become a social media influencer.

So wait, what are the best tactics for capturing vertical video content on Instagram? Well the easiest and most simple way to capture content is to use your phone. This will ensure all subjects are in frame, helping to keep eyes on your content for longer.

2. Filter For Life

Filters are transforming the way we express ourselves online. As technology advances and shifts so will the way we communicate. AR and VR are slowly becoming a larger part of social platforms than ever before, and this is just the beginning for influencer marketing.

Instagram’s introduction of the cute face filters are actually a great example of how AR can fit into our social lives and be fun!

3. Offline Events and Activations Designed for Instagram

Events and experiences are going to dominate this year. We will see brands begin to create experiential marketing events, for users and social media influencers to engage with the brand and their products on a more meaningful level. In 2018 we saw brands take influencer marketing to the next level. Brands began to take their macro influencers on all paid vacations to exotic locations to connect, learn about the brand and experience products in a beautiful place. Hello content for days. Hello sales.  Brands are jumping on this trend and it’s not going away anytime soon.

Creating an offline, Instagram worthy experience for influencers and customers will not only help you get more followers, but also generate more sales and visitors to you store or site! It’s the new WOM (word of mouth), but on Instagram! 4. Shopping on IG gets Better

Shopping features were slowly being released on Instagram in 2018 and there is no sign of them slowing down. Shopping on Instagram is obviously going to have a huge effect on sales but how will all this relate to working with brands on Instagram?  

We’re hoping that soon influencers will be able to tag the shoppable function in their posts! This feature however will likely be similar to the Instagram paid partnership feature, where brands can approve of certain influencers.

To be the best influencer for a brand it’s important that you engage with your audience in a way that excites the brand you are collaborating with! 5. Instagram Story Ads

Lastly, in 2019 we will see a huge increase in Instagram Story Ads! There are around 400 million people watching Instagram Stories every single day, with more and more users making Instagram their platform of choice it makes sense that Instagram Story Ads are the hottest paid advertising.

Brands and Influencers, keep the focus of your ads or collaboration on authenticity, organic, less filtered images. Remember stories most users are used to seeing are stories by their friends, so your content should be strategically curated to capture your intended audience’s attention.
